The Role
We’re looking for a skilled WordPress Developer to join our growing team. You will play a crucial role in building, maintaining, and enhancing our WordPress websites. You’ll work closely with designers, content creators, and other developers to deliver exceptional user experiences.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-quality, user-friendly websites using WordPress as the primary CMS platform.
- Collaborate with designers to translate design mockups and wireframes into functional and visually appealing WordPress themes.
- Customize existing themes or develop custom themes from scratch to meet specific project requirements.
- Utilize child themes to ensure efficient updates and maintainability of codebase.
- Implement and configure plugins to extend website functionality (e.g., contact forms, e-commerce, SEO).
- Integrate with third-party APIs and services to enhance website capabilities.
- Ensure website responsiveness and optimal user experience across various devices (desktop, mobile, tablet).
- Optimize website performance for speed and efficiency.
- Adhere to WordPress coding standards and best practices for security and maintainability.
- Conduct thorough testing to ensure website functionality and address any bugs or errors.
- Understand and implement basic security measures to protect the website from vulnerabilities.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest WordPress core updates, plugin updates, and security trends.
- Provide ongoing maintenance and support for existing WordPress websites.
- Document code and solutions for future reference and maintainability.
Qualifications
- Minimum X years of experience as a WordPress Developer or a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of WordPress core functionalities, themes, plugins, and customization options.
- Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (including jQuery is a plus).
- Experience with PHP (a plus) for advanced theme development or plugin customization.
- Familiarity with child theme creation and best practices.
- Experience with responsive web design (RWD) principles.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
- A passion for WordPress development and a commitment to continuous learning.
Bonus Points
- Experience with popular WordPress page builders (e.g., Elementor, Divi) (a plus).
- Experience with e-commerce platforms like WooCommerce (a plus).
- Experience with WordPress security best practices (a plus).
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) (a plus).
- Understanding of SEO principles and best practices for WordPress (a plus).
