The Role
We’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Backend Developer to join our growing development team. You’ll play a key role in supporting the development and maintenance of our web applications. This is a great opportunity to learn from experienced developers and gain valuable hands-on experience in the exciting field of backend development.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior developers and other team members to understand project requirements and translate them into functional backend code.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code adhering to best practices and coding standards.
- Develop and implement server-side functionalities using a backend programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Node.js).
- Gain experience with database technologies (relational or NoSQL) to manage and manipulate data effectively.
- Integrate APIs and external services to enhance application functionality.
- Assist with unit testing and integration testing to ensure code quality and application stability.
- Troubleshoot and debug basic backend issues under the guidance of senior developers.
- Learn and contribute to the existing codebase by understanding its structure and functionalities.
- Maintain clear and concise documentation for assigned tasks and code contributions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Solid understanding of fundamental programming concepts (e.g., variables, data structures, algorithms).
- Experience with at least one backend programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Node.js) (a plus).
- Basic understanding of database concepts (relational or NoSQL) (a plus).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) (a plus).
- A passion for learning and a willingness to grow in the field of backend development.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
Bonus Points
- Experience with web development frameworks relevant to your technology stack (e.g., Django, Spring, Express.js) (a plus).
- Experience with building and deploying web applications (a plus).
- Familiarity with API design principles (RESTful APIs) (a plus).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) (a plus).
