The Role
We’re looking for a talented and detail-oriented XML Developer to join our growing development team. You will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining XML-based solutions that facilitate efficient data exchange, storage, and manipulation within our systems.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and other developers to understand data requirements and translate them into well-structured XML schemas (XSD).
- Design, develop, and validate XML documents that adhere to defined schemas and industry standards (e.g., DTD).
- Utilize XML-related technologies like XSLT for data transformation and manipulation as needed.
- Develop and implement APIs or integrations that leverage XML for data exchange with external systems.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented XML code adhering to best practices.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex XML-related issues to ensure data integrity and application functionality.
- Conduct unit testing and integration testing to ensure the validity and functionality of XML data processing.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in XML technologies and standards (e.g., XPath 3.1, XQuery).
- Provide technical support and guidance to other developers working with XML data.
- Document XML schemas, code, and processes for future reference and maintenance.
Qualifications
- Minimum X years of experience as an XML Developer or a similar role in data management.
- In-depth knowledge of XML syntax, structure, and best practices for data representation.
- Strong understanding of XML Schema Definition (XSD) for creating robust and maintainable data models.
- Proficiency in using XML editing tools and validation tools.
- Experience with XSLT for data transformation tasks (a plus).
- Familiarity with XML APIs or integrations (e.g., SOAP, REST) (a plus).
- Understanding of database concepts (relational or NoSQL) for data storage and retrieval (a plus).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
Bonus Points
- Experience with XML-related technologies like XPath and XQuery for data manipulation.
- Experience with building and deploying XML-based applications or integrations.
