The Role
We are seeking a talented and data-driven Tableau Developer to join our growing analytics team. You will play a key role in the entire Tableau analytics lifecycle, from data acquisition and cleaning to building interactive dashboards and reports that empower informed decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into actionable Tableau visualizations.
- Gather, clean, and prepare data from various sources (databases, spreadsheets, APIs) for analysis in Tableau.
- Design and develop interactive, user-friendly, and visually appealing dashboards and reports using Tableau Desktop.
- Leverage advanced Tableau features like calculations, sets, filters, and parameters to create insightful visualizations.
- Implement best practices for data visualization design principles to ensure clear communication and impactful insights.
- Develop and maintain data connections between Tableau and various data sources.
- Build and publish Tableau workbooks and dashboards to Tableau Server or Tableau Online for secure and collaborative access.
- Document data sources, calculations, and development processes for future reference and maintenance.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in Tableau and data visualization best practices.
- Provide support and guidance to other users on leveraging Tableau for data analysis.
- Assist with the development and implementation of data governance standards for Tableau dashboards and reports. (a plus)
Qualifications
- Minimum X years of experience as a Tableau Developer or similar data visualization role.
- Proven experience working with Tableau Desktop to design and develop dashboards and reports.
- Strong understanding of data analysis concepts and methodologies.
- Experience with data cleansing and preparation techniques (e.g., SQL queries, data wrangling tools).
- Familiarity with connecting Tableau to various data sources (databases, spreadsheets, APIs).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
- A passion for data visualization and a commitment to creating clear and insightful dashboards.
Bonus Points
- Experience with Tableau Server or Tableau Online for publishing and managing dashboards.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) for data manipulation (a plus).
- Experience with data warehousing and business intelligence concepts (a plus).
- Experience with creating data governance policies and procedures for Tableau (a plus).
- Experience with storytelling techniques using data visualizations.
