The Role
We are seeking a skilled PHP Programmer to join our development team and play a vital role in building and maintaining our dynamic web applications. You will leverage your expertise in PHP and related technologies to create user-friendly, efficient, and scalable web functionalities.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement robust back-end systems using PHP, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, and other developers to translate user stories and wireframes into clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Build and manage secure and scalable database interactions using SQL queries.
- Integrate front-end elements developed by other team members with the server-side logic.
- Develop and implement APIs for seamless data exchange between applications (if applicable).
- Write unit tests to ensure code quality and application stability.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex application issues to maintain optimal performance.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest PHP frameworks, libraries, and security best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving the overall codebase quality.
- Assist in technical discussions and provide valuable insights to solve challenging problems.
Qualifications
- Minimum X years of experience as a PHP Programmer (or similar role).
- Strong understanding of PHP syntax, object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts, and design patterns.
- Experience with popular PHP frameworks (e.g., Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter) (a plus).
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and SQL querying languages.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript (a plus).
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
- A passion for building high-quality software and a commitment to continuous learning.
Bonus Points
- Experience with API development and integration techniques (RESTful APIs).
- Experience with caching mechanisms and performance optimization techniques.
- Experience with templating engines (e.g., Twig, Blade).
- Experience with deployment tools and processes (e.g., Capistrano, Docker).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) (a plus).
- A portfolio of personal projects or contributions to open-source PHP projects.
