The Role
We are seeking a talented and results-oriented ETL Developer to join our Data Integration team. You will play a crucial role in designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining robust ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure a steady flow of high-quality data into our data warehouse or data lake.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement efficient and scalable ETL pipelines using industry-standard ETL tools (e.g., Informatica PowerCenter, SSIS, Talend Open Studio).
- Gather and analyze data requirements from various stakeholders (data analysts, business users) to translate them into technical specifications.
- Extract data from diverse sources (relational databases, flat files, APIs) using appropriate techniques.
- Cleanse, transform, and manipulate data using scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python) and ETL tool functionalities to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Load transformed data into target destinations (data warehouses, data lakes) in an optimized manner.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive job documentation, including data lineage and job parameters.
- Monitor and troubleshoot ETL pipelines to identify and resolve data integration issues promptly.
- Perform data quality checks and ensure data integrity throughout the ETL process.
- Collaborate with Database Administrators, Data Analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure successful data integration.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in ETL tools, data integration best practices, and data quality techniques.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- X years of experience as an ETL Developer or similar data integration role.
- Proven experience in designing and developing ETL pipelines using industry-standard ETL tools.
- Strong understanding of ETL concepts, data warehousing/data lake principles, and data transformation techniques.
- Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and querying.
- Experience with data profiling and data quality control methods.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Bonus Points
- Experience with cloud-based ETL solutions (e.g., AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory).
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) for large-scale data processing (if applicable).
- Experience with data lineage tools and techniques.
- Experience with data governance and data security best practices.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl) for automating ETL tasks.
